Yagmur Eten delivered the English public lecture at RUG, “Why do we age? Evolution of ageing across the tree of life”. The session introduced fundamental concepts in the evolution of ageing, exploring why senescence emerges across species and what comparative biology can teach us about lifespan diversity.
A Dutch public lecture was developed in discussion with Marvelous Minds, a partnership between UMCG and Forum, and was related to a movie, with Benjamin Button suggested. The Abur lab also delivered a well-attended and well-received mobile lab workshop at the first REACT Thematic Workshop.
